Windows Method (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
The process is identical across all major Windows browsers. Here's the step-by-step walkthrough:
Copy the Pinterest pin URL
Open Pinterest in your browser. Navigate to the video pin you want to download. Copy the URL from the address bar — it will look like https://pinterest.com/pin/123456789/. Alternatively, right-click the pin and choose Copy link address.
Open PinSave in a new tab
Open a new browser tab and go to pinsave.cc/en/. You can bookmark this page for quick access in the future.
Paste the URL and click Download
Click the input box and paste the Pinterest URL (Ctrl+V). Click the red Download button. PinSave will fetch the video quality options in 2–4 seconds.
Save the video to your computer
When the quality options appear, click ↓ Download next to your preferred quality (HD recommended). The browser will start downloading the MP4 file automatically to your Downloads folder.
Find the file in your Downloads folder
Press Ctrl+J in Chrome or Edge to open the downloads panel. In Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+Y. The video will be saved as an .mp4 file. You can also find it in C:\Users\YourName\Downloads.

Safari on Mac
Safari handles downloads slightly differently but is equally effective:
- Copy the Pinterest pin URL from your browser address bar.
- Go to pinsave.cc/en/ in Safari.
- Paste the URL and click Download.
- When quality options appear, right-click (or Control+click) the ↓ Download button.
- Choose "Download Linked File" from the context menu.
- The video saves to your Downloads folder. You can also click the download indicator in Safari's toolbar to see progress.
Chrome or Firefox on Mac
Chrome and Firefox on Mac behave the same as on Windows. Click the ↓ Download button and the file downloads directly. If it opens in a new tab instead, right-click and choose "Save Video As…" to save it to your chosen folder.
Browser Comparison
Here's how each browser handles the Pinterest video download process on desktop:
| Browser | Platform | Click to Download | Force Save Method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Win / Mac | ✓ Auto-downloads | Right-click → Save link as… |
| Firefox | Win / Mac | ✓ Auto-downloads | Right-click → Save link as… |
| Edge | Windows | ✓ Auto-downloads | Right-click → Save link as… |
| Safari | Mac | May open in tab | Right-click → Download Linked File |
Troubleshooting
The video plays in my browser instead of downloading
This is common in Safari and some Chrome configurations. Instead of clicking the download button normally, right-click it and choose "Save link as…" (Chrome/Firefox) or "Download Linked File" (Safari). This forces the browser to save the file rather than play it.
Chrome shows a "dangerous file" warning
Chrome sometimes flags MP4 downloads. Click the arrow next to the download notification at the bottom of the screen and select "Keep". The file is safe — Chrome's warning is triggered by file size, not content.
The downloaded file has no extension
Some browsers save the file without an .mp4 extension. Rename the file and add .mp4 to the end (e.g., rename V to V.mp4). The file will then open in any video player.
PinSave returns "No downloadable content found"
This means the pin is either private, an Idea Pin (multi-slide), or a Story Pin format that PinSave doesn't support. Make sure the URL contains /pin/ and points to a standard video pin. Private pins require you to be logged in to Pinterest, but PinSave cannot access private content.
The download speed is slow
Pinterest videos can be 20–80 MB for HD quality. Download speed depends on your internet connection and Pinterest's CDN. If you need a smaller file, choose the SD quality option instead.
