What a Pinterest Pin URL Looks Like

A valid Pinterest pin URL always contains /pin/ followed by a numeric ID. Here are examples of URLs that work with PinSave:

Pinterest App — iPhone & Android

The Pinterest app has a Share button on every pin that copies the URL directly to your clipboard.

Using the Pinterest App

Step 1

Open the Pinterest app and find the video pin you want to download. Tap the pin to open it fully.

Step 2

Tap the Share icon — it looks like an arrow pointing up (iOS) or three connected dots (Android). It's usually at the top-right of the pin or in the pin options menu.

Step 3

In the share sheet, tap "Copy Link". The pin URL is now copied to your clipboard as a pin.it short link (e.g., https://pin.it/AbCdEfG).

Step 4

Switch to your browser, open pinsave.cc/en/, and paste the URL with a long-press → Paste.

Note: The Pinterest app gives you a pin.it short link, not the full URL. That's fine — PinSave accepts both formats and will follow the short link automatically.

Mobile Browser (Safari / Chrome)

If you're browsing Pinterest in your mobile browser instead of the app, the pin URL is visible in the address bar.

From the Browser Address Bar

Step 1

Open Pinterest in Safari or Chrome on your phone. Navigate to the pin containing the video you want.

Step 2

Tap the address bar at the top of the browser. The full URL is highlighted automatically.

Step 3

Tap Copy (iOS) or long-press → Copy (Android). You now have the full pinterest.com/pin/… URL on your clipboard.

Step 4

Open a new tab, go to pinsave.cc/en/, tap the input box, and paste.

Desktop Browser (PC & Mac)

On a computer, the easiest method is copying from the address bar. There's also a right-click shortcut.

Method 1: Address Bar

Step 1

Open Pinterest in your browser and navigate to the video pin.

Step 2

Click the address bar (or press Ctrl+L on Windows / Cmd+L on Mac). The URL is selected automatically.

Step 3

Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac) to copy, then open a new tab to PinSave and paste with Ctrl+V / Cmd+V.

Method 2: Right-click Copy Link

Step 1

On the Pinterest board or feed, find the video pin (you don't need to click into it).

Step 2

Right-click the pin image and select "Copy link address" (Chrome/Edge) or "Copy Link" (Firefox/Safari). This copies the full pin URL directly.

Fastest desktop workflow: Right-click the pin → Copy link address → switch tab to PinSave → Ctrl+V → Download. No need to open the pin first.

When you copy a link from the Pinterest app, you get a pin.it short URL like https://pin.it/AbCdEfG. This is a redirect that leads to the full pin URL.

PinSave accepts pin.it links — it automatically follows the redirect to find the full pin data. You don't need to expand the short link manually.

One exception: If you received a pin.it link via a messaging app or social media, make sure it still works when you open it in a browser. Occasionally pin.it links expire if the original pin was deleted. If PinSave returns "Not a valid Pinterest URL," try opening the short link in your browser first to confirm it's still active, then copy the full URL from the address bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

A pin URL points to a single piece of content (one video, image, or GIF) and contains /pin/ followed by a number. A board URL points to a collection of pins and looks like pinterest.com/username/boardname/. PinSave works with pin URLs only — it downloads individual pins, not entire boards.
Pinterest uses pin.it short links in the app's Share function for brevity — they're easier to paste into messages. The short link redirects to the full pinterest.com/pin/… URL when opened in a browser. PinSave follows this redirect automatically, so you can paste the pin.it link directly.
Not directly. PinSave requires a specific pin URL. If you want to download a video from a board, open the board, click the specific video pin to open its own page, and then copy the URL from the address bar — it will now contain /pin/.
The most common reasons: (1) the URL is a board or profile URL, not a pin URL — make sure it contains /pin/; (2) you copied text instead of a URL — the input must start with https://; (3) the pin was deleted or is private; (4) the pin.it short link has expired. Open the URL in a browser to verify it loads before pasting it into PinSave.
Yes. Pinterest notifications and emails contain standard pin URLs. Long-press the link → Copy Link (mobile) or right-click → Copy Link Address (desktop), then paste it into PinSave as normal.
