Step-by-Step: Download Pinterest Videos in Firefox
The process is identical to any other browser — PinSave is a web tool that works in Firefox without any extension or add-on:
Copy the Pinterest pin URL
Navigate to the Pinterest pin containing the video. Click the address bar in Firefox and press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C to copy the full URL. On mobile Firefox, tap the address bar and copy the URL shown.
Open PinSave in Firefox
Press Ctrl+T to open a new tab. Type pinsave.cc/en/ and press Enter. No sign-in, no extension prompt — the tool loads immediately.
Paste the URL and click Download
Click the input field on the PinSave homepage. Press Ctrl+V to paste the Pinterest URL. Click the red Download button. PinSave retrieves the pin data in 2–3 seconds.
Choose quality and save
All available quality options appear — up to 1080p HD. Click your preferred quality. Firefox will show a save dialog or download automatically depending on your settings (see next section).
Find the downloaded video
Press Ctrl+J (or click the downloads icon in the Firefox toolbar) to see your downloads. The MP4 file is also in your Downloads folder. Click Show in Folder to reveal it in your file manager.
Understanding Firefox's Save Dialog
Firefox handles file downloads differently from Chrome. Depending on your Firefox settings, when you click a quality option you may see one of two behaviors:
- Automatic download: The MP4 file goes directly to your Downloads folder. You'll see a download notification at the top of the Firefox window. This is the default for most Firefox installations.
- Save dialog: Firefox asks "What should Firefox do with this file?" — choose Save File and click OK. Optionally check "Do this automatically" to skip this dialog for future downloads.
Firefox on Windows, Mac, and Linux
Windows (Firefox)
Files save to C:\Users\[name]\Downloads\ by default. Find them in File Explorer or press Ctrl+J in Firefox. The video opens in Windows Media Player or VLC.
macOS (Firefox)
Files save to ~/Downloads/. Access via Finder sidebar or Firefox's downloads panel (Cmd+J). Double-click to open in QuickTime Player.
Linux (Firefox)
Files save to ~/Downloads/. Find them in your file manager (Nautilus, Dolphin, Thunar). Play with VLC, MPV, or any installed media player. Works on Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, and all major distros.
Android (Firefox)
Firefox on Android saves to your Downloads folder. The video appears in your Gallery app automatically after download. Tap the download notification for quick access.
Download any Pinterest video in Firefox — free, no extension needed.
Try PinSave in Firefox →Firefox Download Settings to Check
If downloads aren't working as expected in Firefox, check these settings:
Download location
Firefox → Settings → General → Downloads. Make sure "Save files to" shows a valid folder. If set to "Always ask," Firefox will prompt you each time — useful if you want to organize downloads, but adds a click.
Content type handling
Firefox → Settings → General → Applications. Search for "mp4" or "video/mp4". Make sure it's set to Save File, not "Open in Firefox" or another application. If Firefox tries to play the video in-browser rather than download it, change this setting.
Enhanced Tracking Protection
Firefox's tracking protection is aggressive but does not interfere with PinSave downloads. If you see the shield icon turning orange on PinSave, it's just blocking analytics — the download function works regardless.
Bookmark PinSave for Quick Access in Firefox
If you frequently download Pinterest videos, bookmark PinSave so you can reach it with one key press:
- Open pinsave.cc/en/ in Firefox
- Press Ctrl+D (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+D (Mac) to bookmark
- Choose a location — the Bookmarks Toolbar appears just below the address bar for fastest access
- To enable the toolbar: View → Toolbars → Bookmarks Toolbar → Always Show
Troubleshooting Pinterest Video Downloads in Firefox
Firefox opens the video instead of downloading it
Go to Firefox Settings → General → Applications → search "mp4" → change action to Save File. Then try the download again.
The download starts but the file is 0 bytes
This usually means Firefox lost the connection mid-download. Click the quality button again to restart. If it persists, try disabling your VPN or firewall temporarily — some configurations block direct CDN downloads.
Firefox says the download was blocked
Firefox may warn about downloads from certain domains. Click the downloads icon, then the warning icon next to the file, and choose Allow download. PinSave serves files directly from Pinterest's own CDN — the warning is from Firefox's conservative security policy, not a real threat.
The video plays in-browser with no download option
Right-click the video in the PinSave results area and choose Save Video As… to force a download dialog. Alternatively, change Firefox's mp4 handling in Settings as described above.
